Terms of Service

Last updated: September 22, 2026

These terms govern your use of Spisko, a free home inventory and shopping list app. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms.

This is a plain-language draft covering Spisko's actual features. It is not a substitute for legal advice — have it reviewed by counsel before treating it as binding.

The service

Spisko lets you track a home inventory, set quantity goals, build shopping lists, scan barcodes, save store/category locations, and optionally share a space with other users. It's currently free to use, with no paid tiers.

Your account

  • You need an account (email/password or a supported OAuth provider) to use Spisko.
  • You're responsible for keeping your login credentials and any personal access tokens (used for AI assistant/MCP access) secure. You're responsible for activity that happens under your account, including through a token you've generated.
  • You must be old enough to legally consent to these terms in your jurisdiction (see the Children section of the Privacy Policy).

Your content

  • You own the inventory, list, and location data you create. We don't claim ownership over it.
  • By scanning a barcode, you contribute the resulting barcode-to-product mapping to a shared database used by all Spisko users. Don't submit false, misleading, or offensive product names.
  • If you join or create a shared space, you're granting the other members of that space the ability to view and edit the data within it, per the space's sharing rules. You can leave a space at any time to end that access.
  • Don't upload or enter unlawful content, content that infringes someone else's rights, or content intended to abuse the service (e.g. spam through the contact form, or deliberately corrupt/abusive entries in the shared barcode database).

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Attempt to bypass authentication, rate limits, or access controls, including accessing another user's data without authorization.
  • Use the service to send spam, malware, or abusive content.
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or overload the service in a way that degrades it for other users.
  • Use a personal access token or the MCP integration for anything other than accessing your own data through an assistant you control.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Availability

Spisko is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. It's a free service; we don't guarantee uptime, and we may modify or discontinue features (or the service as a whole) at any time. Where reasonably possible, we'll try to give notice of major changes that would remove data access.

The app is designed to work offline for viewing and light edits, syncing changes when you're back online — but we don't guarantee conflict-free syncing in every scenario.

Disclaimer of warranties

Spisko is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't warrant that the service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that barcode lookups or restock suggestions will always be accurate.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Spisko and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service — including data loss, though we take reasonable measures (soft-delete/undo, backups) to prevent it.

Termination

You may stop using Spisko and request account deletion at any time (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms.

Changes to these terms

If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
